On April 15, 2010 Borderland Beat reported the death of Santiago Lizárraga Ibarra, “El Chaguín.” The Mexican "El Blog del Narco" came out with some of the pictures of the crime scene.
In an operation in Tepic on April 12, 2010, federal police shot dead Lizárraga Santiago Ibarra, "The Chaguín", the alleged ringleader of the Beltran Leyva cartel in the Mazatlan region. Eight days before his death "The Chaguín" had abducted the son Nacho Coronel, which some speculate was the reason for his death.
